Winners announced

The AIS Awards recognise the outstanding achievements of AIS athletes and coaches over the past 12 months. The 2012 awards will be presented during an evening ceremony to be held at the AIS Arena in Canberra on Friday 16 November. 

The night celebrates the achievements of our sporting champions and the many highlights of 2012 including the announcement of the following awards finalists:

Athlete of the Year

  • Tom Slingsby (sailing) - WINNER
  • Malcolm Page (sailing)
  • Evan O'Hanlon (athletics)
  • Ellie Cole (Paralympic swimming)

Junior Athlete of the Year

  • Ellie Cole (Paralympic swimming)

Coach of the Year

  • Gary West (track cycling)

  • Men’s K4 1000-metre kayak crew (sprint canoe):
