Best Profiling of an Athlete, Team or Coach - Print Media
Congratulations to each of the finalists and
the winner this year is Robert Drane from
0:00:07.700,0:00:14.700
Inside Sport.
Robert Drane making his way up to the stage
0:00:17.930,0:00:24.930
to collect his Award, congratulations Robert.
I would like to thank Adam Goodes first of
0:00:33.640,0:00:39.600
all for being such fantastic subject matter.
Not for nothing that two stories about Adam
0:00:39.600,0:00:46.600
were finalists in this category. Jeez it’s
bright up here, thanks to the ASC judges who
0:00:46.620,0:00:51.879
deemed mine worthy, the Awards have really
kicked on in the last ten years and now they
0:00:51.879,0:00:58.739
attract some pretty heavy duty entrants so
obviously this is an honour. In particular
0:00:58.739,0:01:05.140
I am happy to be receiving this on behalf
of the other winner of this, Inside Sport
0:01:05.140,0:01:11.760
Magazine, this year marks the 20th anniversary
of Inside Sport, that’s been a criminally
0:01:11.760,0:01:18.760
under resourced magazine and its managed to
cobble together a stable of part timers like
0:01:19.470,0:01:26.470
me many of whom have gone onto achieve great
things in the media...unlike me. The editorial
0:01:27.490,0:01:32.960
staff have always managed to put together
a magazine that at the very least avoided
0:01:32.960,0:01:39.960
resembling a K-Mart catalogue at best it introduced
sport lovers to ground breaking stories and
0:01:40.850,0:01:47.850
great photography and it allowed us to write
about sport in ways that people were not doing
0:01:47.860,0:01:52.469
20 years ago and I am proud to be associated
with Inside Sport. Thank you.
