Discover the world of sport at Floriade 2009!

With its theme of ‘mind, body and soul’ the 2009 Floriade spring festival proved to be a natural partner for the Australian Sports Commission (ASC).

Annually, more than 400 000 people visit the southern hemisphere’s largest spring festival in the Australian Capital Territory and in 2009, the ASC had a strong presence, as an executive sponsor throughout the 30-day event.

The sponsorship of the ASC included the following elements:

  • ASC marquee with static displays from across the ASC and special demonstrations by:
    • AIS Biomechanics and Performance Analysis (12-13 September)
    • AIS Physiology (19-20 September)
    • AIS Sports Nutrition (21-27 September)
    • NTID (28 September – 4 October)
    • AIS Skill Acquisition (5-11 October)
  • Sport in the Park with Community Sport coordinating sport activities for school-aged children delivered by 15 different local sporting organisations.
  • Fitness activities with Swim and Fitness at the AIS delivering 22 different fitness classes, including Bootcamp, Boxafit, Pilates, Super Circuit and Yoga.
  • Special events including:
    • Mother and Daughter Sports Challenge (Saturday 19 October 2009)
