The Australian Sports Commission (ASC) has a highly successful International Relations program that has been growing and developing for over a decade. The program fosters cooperation in sport between Australia and other countries through the provision of resources, services and facilities related to sport.

It does this by:

  • managing international community sports development programs, funded by the Australian Government, in the Pacific, southern Africa and the Caribbean
  • coordinating the ASC’s relationship with foreign agencies.

The program also hosts delegates from various governments and institutions around the world.

The International Relations program builds global sporting links by:

  • showcasing elite and community-based sporting skills, coaching and administration capacities
  • providing overseas opportunities for Australians involved in playing, coaching and administering sport, to deliver and advance their skills
  • facilitating the reception of, and support for, international visitors to the ASC
  • garnering intra-governmental support, by delivering quality sports programs in key developing countries.
