Development grants

The Australian Sports Outreach Program, which was launched in July 2006 and will run until June 2011, provides opportunities for predominantly Commonwealth countries in the Pacific, southern Africa, Asia and the Caribbean to receive support for sport development initiatives.

The Australian Sports Commission (ASC) works closely with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and Australian diplomatic missions to promote grant programs in each of the countries that are eligible to apply.

Submissions for Sport Development Grants are assessed by a committee comprised of representatives of the ASC and the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
