Official visits

The Australian Sports Commission (ASC) and the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) are proud of their reputations and the interest their programs attract each year.

Each year, we receive many requests from international delegations and sporting teams wishing to see the facilities and receive briefings from program managers. International Relations at the ASC is responsible for arranging these visits. We accommodate as many of these requests as possible.

Before you plan a visit, check out the wealth of information available on the rest of the ASC website. See Topics in sport for an extensive list of sporting topics. Also see media fact sheets for aspects of the ASC and AIS.

Some ASC programs have specific sections that may be of interest, such as:

If after reviewing this information, you still want to visit the ASC or AIS, you need to submit a written request. To help us determine whether your request can be fulfilled, we need the following information:

  • Who wants to visit? (including names, titles and functions)
  • How large is the delegation?
  • Has that delegation or country visited the ASC previously?
  • What were the outcomes of any earlier visits?
  • What is the delegation seeking from a visit to the ASC?
  • Does the delegation have any specific requests and areas of interest, or desire specific outcomes?

Requests to visit should be sent to international@ausport.gov.au.

You will be advised whether a visit can be accommodated.

A fee may be charged for briefings conducted in Canberra. Any fee must be paid in advance. If a briefing is cancelled, a portion of the fee will be refunded.
