Music – Rocking Horse Music – Tuesday afternoons

Every Tuesday, the children have the opportunity to be involved in “Rocking Horse Music”. They are invited to spend half an hour with the music teacher and experience music hands-on.

Rocking Horse’s experienced music teachers engage the children in song, playing instruments, and dance and movements sequences. Each week has a different session focus, such as numbers, colours, water, seasons, dynamics (loud/soft), pace, pitch and rhythm. We learn new songs, some of which are sung using sign language. Our teacher brings with her a variety of resources like ribbons, scarves, feathers, bean bags, puppets and parachutes to enhance the musical experience.

Each session ends with a story and time for relaxation as we listen to different music.

“I like the singing and reading stories” Tynan, age 5

“I like painting at music time, pretend painting with ribbons and bean bags, I also like the singing” Stephen , age 4
