Australian Sport: The Pathway to Success

As part of the 2010-11 Budget, the Australian Government announced its new direction for Australian sport.

The then Minister for Sport, Kate Ellis MP, released the Australian Government’s new sport vision Australian Sport: The Pathway to Success backed by $195 million in extra funding, the largest-ever injection into Australian sport.

The new direction aims to increase the numbers of Australians participating in sport, strengthen sporting pathways to link grassroots and high performance sport, and strive for success.

The Australian Sports Commission’s strategic plan, Working Together for Australian Sport, reflects the Government’s policy and the Australian Sports Commission’s central role in its delivery.
