Gatorade
When you’re gearing up for competition, you have to give everything you’ve got. Reaching your peak performance depends on giving your body exactly what it needs at the right times.
Born in 1967 on the field of play at the University of Florida, Gatorade was invented to help athletes stay hydrated and play their best game. To further The Gatorade Company’s unique dedication to athletes, the Gatorade Sports Science Institute (GSSI) was established in 1988 to study the effects of exercise, environment, nutrition and hydration on the human body.
The goal of the GSSI is to make sure the Gatorade formula remains optimal for hydration and performance. The result of this work is that with more than three decades of scientific study behind it, Gatorade is the most researched sports beverage on the planet.
Gatorade has a scientifically proven formula that contains:
- a blend of carbohydrates and electrolytes to help speed fluid and solute absorption into the bloodstream;
- a source of carbohydrates to help athletes work longer and harder;
- a combination of electrolytes to replenish the minerals lost through sweat and aid in rehydration; and
- a great range of flavours to encourage fluid consumption and help keep active bodies well hydrated.
