Many organisations request athletes to speak at various functions throughout the ACT and interstate. Athletes interested in registering with the Speakers Bureau must attend the public speaking training workshops run through the ACE program.
The Bureau operates on a fee for service agreement, the fee paid to each athlete depends on their ranking, profile, experience and any contract arrangement with agents.

For the Athlete
Q - What is the Speakers Bureau?
A - The Speakers Bureau is a collection of AIS Athletes from a variety of sporting areas who are trained in Public Speaking and present at various functions and events.
Q - How do I join the Speakers Bureau?
A - To become a member of the Speakers Bureau you will be required to attend various public speaking and professional presentation courses. You will be trained on how to present yourself professionally and how to inspire and motivate an audience.
Q - Once I am trained what happens?
A - Once you are trained, you will be contacted whenever a function comes up where they require an athlete speaker.
Q - What sort of functions would I present at?
A - You could be asked to present at business functions, presentation and awards nights, gala evenings, fundraising events or school functions.
Q - Do I get paid?
A - Yes you do. You may also be asked if you wish to present voluntarily at times.
Q - What if I am not available when a presentation comes up?
A - Just let us know. When you join the Speakers Bureau you are only committed once you confirm your availability for a presentation.

A - Australian Institute of Sport athletes who have shown an interest in public speaking are available.

A - Fees for speakers vary and are negotiable; it will depend on the profile of the athlete concerned.
