2011 - Anna Meares, Track Cycling
Sprint queen Anna Meares shined again in 2011, winning three world championships. Undoubtedly one of Australia’s best female track cyclists, the UCI Track World Champion ships saw Anna add spirit and kerien world titles to her already bursting trophy cabinet. In another outstanding performance on the track in the Netherlands, Anna and team-mate Kaarle McCulloch defended their team spirit title against their British rivals, making it three gold medals in a row in the Olympic event. This feat makes Anna only the second woman in the world to take home three world title crowns in one year.
