Athlete career and education

Integrating education, career and a personal life with a high performance sporting career is a challenge. This is where the Athlete Career and Education (ACE) program can help. The ACE program assists elite athletes to achieve sport and life goals through integrating learning, work and sports performance.

Some research suggests that athletes with an integrated lifestyle are more likely to achieve their sporting goals, cope better with stress and injury, and have more confidence in what the future will hold after sport.

Many coaches also see a link between life balance and improved athlete performance. ACE is part of the team helping to develop well-rounded athletes with the skills to reach their full potential.

Since the program first started in 1994, it has assisted around 20 000 elite athletes across Australia to prepare for life after sport.

More than 3000 elite athletes are eligible to access ACE each year, taking advantage of the national network and highly qualified staff located in each state and territory.  National ACE is a member of the Career Industry Council of Australia (CICA). This requires staff and programs to meet national industry standards.
