AIS gymnast strives for Olympic berth

It’s D-day for nine talented gymnasts still in contention for a position on the Australian Women’s Artistic Gymnastics team to compete at the Beijing Olympics.

This weekend see's the final selection trial at the Australian Institute of Sport and the last chance for gymnast to impress national selectors.

Endeavouring to fulfil their lifelong dream of representing Australia at an Olympic Games, the gymnasts will demonstrate their skills and class across all apparatus.

At the conclusion of the trials, selectors will choose six team members plus two reserves.

The nominees will then be put forward to the Australian Olympic Committee for selection into the Australian team.

The final team will be announced on Monday, 30 June at 10am.
