Big pay day for Snowsill and Moffatt

24 Jun 2008

Australia’s Olympic contenders, Emma Snowsill and Emma Moffatt have scooped the prize pool over $240 000 USD, by taking the gold and silver medals at the world richest triathlon world cup.

Snowsill will receive $200,000 USD, for her win, whilst Moffatt will also pocket a handy $40,000 USD for her efforts.

Claiming third place was 2008 World Champion, Helen Tucker of the UK.

After an incredible run leg fellow Olympic team member, Erin Densham crossed the line in 10th place, with Alee Sharp finishing in 13th and Felicity Abram in 14th place.

“I can’t believe I had such a good run on what feels like my first race of the season,” Snowsill said.

“Having come off such an intense training block of the last few months, I wasn’t quite sure how I would go on the first race back.”

“I was a bit wobbly on the swim and bike and was just grateful I found my legs on the run.”

“Today’s prize purse wasn’t my focus, but it is amazing to know that you have that money behind you, it definitely helps.”
