The Stay Healthy Project

Sport scientists at the AIS are looking for elite athletes to take part in a study of factors associated with illness.

Researchers from the AIS and University of Canberra have launched the Stay Healthy Project which aims to track athletes' wellbeing with a view to estimate the risk of getting sick and inform prevention practices - particularly around important competitions.

They are looking for athletes who are eligible to compete in benchmark world championship or Olympic/Paralympic events in 2016. Participants will be asked to complete a series of nine questionnaires on three occasions, and agree to blood and saliva testing at one or two training sessions.

Questionnaires can be completed online and where possible, researchers will attend the athlete's training sessions for testing, in April and June.

Participating athletes will go into a draw to win an iPad mini, $500 gift vouchers or Bose headphones. See the competition terms and conditions for more information.

To participate, login to the Athlete Management System and take the online questionnaire.
