Australian Football - Achievements

Even in its short history, the AIS/AFL Academy has a long list of achievements. The AIS/AFL Academy formed the Australian Under-17 team for an inaugural international rules series against the Irish national Under-17 team in 1998. This has become a very evenly contested series each year.

The program has also had more than 70% of its players drafted to senior AFL clubs. These have included premiership players Des Headland, Robert Copeland, Kane Cornes, Adam Schneider and Lewis Roberts-Thomson. Other players already establishing careers at senior level include Chris Judd (Brownlow Medallist), Cameron Ling, Daniel Kerr, Kane Cornes, Josh Fraser, Alan Didak, Ryan Lonie, Ashley Sampi, Xavier Clarke, Luke Hodge, Luke Ball, Brendan Goddard and Daniel Wells.
