Alpine Skiing

Skiers with disabilities who are selected onto the AIS/APC Alpine Skiing program can expect to attend up to four on snow training camps throughout the domestic season as well as competition at the Disabled WinterSport Australia’s National championships.

Dry land physical training camps are also scheduled through the Australian Institute of Sport, prior to both the domestic and international seasons.

The international season includes both racing and training for up to two months throughout Europe and the United States.

About AIS/APC Alpine Skiing

The AIS dry land training camps incorporate: strength and conditioning, sports medicine, psychology and therapeutic support through the various specialists to enhance the performance and motivation of the athletes to continue with their individual training programs out side of the scheduled training camps. During the on snow camps, biomechanical performance analysis through the AIS has also been introduced.
