Achievements and highlights

2004

At the Paralympics the Swim team won 6 Gold, 14 Silver and 15 Bronze. Of these medals, AIS Scholarship athletes (including relays) won Gold - 5; Silver - 11, Bronze -11.

The top individual medal winners were:

  • Matthew Cowdrey - 3 Gold, 2 Silver and 2 Bronze
  • Prue Watt - 5 Silver and 1 Bronze
  • Chantel Wolfenden - 1 Gold, 1 Silver and 4 Bronze

AIS Scholarship holders that medalled were: Kate Bailey, Daniel Bell, Sarah Bowen, Lichelle Clarke, Matthew Cowdrey, Marayke Jonkers, Katrina Lewis, Rick Pendleton (swam the heats of the gold medal relay win), Sarah Rose, Prue Watt and Chantel Wolfenden.

Siobhan Paton, also had a good representative year, winning 14 Gold and 3 Silver at the INAS - FID World Championships in January 2004. Siobhan also won 3 Gold, 2 Silver and 2 Bronze at the Global Games in Sweden in July 2004.
