Paralympic Swimming Scholarships

Potential AIS Paralympic Swimming scholarship holders must be registered with an APC member organisation and must meet International Paralympic Committee eligibility criteria regarding residency and citizenship.

Swimmers must also be ranked within the top three in the world for their specific class. Swimmers are selected for the squad in April each year, based on performances achieved at identified meets during the domestic season.

The scholarship period runs from 1 May to 30 April each year. Scholarship holders can access elite training facilities and staff. They are entitled to competition assistance, travel and accommodation expenses and/or other expenses at the discretion of the Head Coach. Scholarship holders also have access to the AIS’s world-class facilities and services including sports science and sports medicine, and athlete career and education assistance.

Home-based coaches of AIS scholarship holders are entitled to development opportunities including workshops and involvement in state and national camps.
