Beach Volleyball Aussie men win beach volleyball gold in Thailand

Australia’s Sam Boehm and Chris McHugh pulled off a stunning 2:1 (19-21 21-16 15-13) victory over Indonesia’s Andy Ardiyansah / Koko Darkuncoro to win Gold in the Asian Tour event.
Indonesia are the Asian Beach Games champions, winners of last week's Khanom event and gold medallists at the 24th SEA Games.
A massive kill block, on match point by Chris McHugh provided the Aussies with their first International victory.
This was a great and well earned victory for the team after a demanding pre-season training schedule over the past 4 months.
The team is now back in training at the AIS Beach Volleyball centre in Adelaide to prepare for the Brazilian World Tour event with AIS Men’s Senior Coach Craig Marshall. The team leaves Saturday for next week’s event.
Australia’s women’s pair Louise Bowden and Alice Rohkamper lost their third-place play-off 0:2 21-18 21-12 to Thailand (Kamolthip / Upa) in their first Interntional event together as a team. and finished 4th.
While Australian other women’s team Heike Jensen and Becchara Palmer finished 9th.
The Aussie women’s teams are now in Songkhla, Thailand for this week’s 10th Samila Asian Beach Volleyball Tour event.
