Beach Volleyball More beach volleyball success early in the season for Aussies in Thailand

Australia’s Becchara Palmer / Heike Jensen and Louise Bawden / Alice Rohkamper have just completed competition in the 10th Samila-Federbrau Asian Beach Volleyball Tour at Samila Beach, Thailand.
Backing up the Australian men’s gold medal early this week, our women’s team of Becchara Palmer / Heike Jensen defeated China in a play off for the bronze medal.
The significance of this victory against the Chinese can be placed into perspective with the Asian Volleyball Confederation reporting that, ‘the Chinese remain one of the indomitable giants for the other experienced teams to be reckoned with in the top-flight five-day meet’.
Our other Women’s team Louise Bawden / Alice Rohkamper finished fifth after defeating Japan in the a play off to back up their fourth place finish in the previous event. This to is a terrific result for this newly formedteam.
The Australian women will now return home to continue preparations with AIS/National Coach Carlos ‘Alemao’ Galletti, for the China World Tour event in a fortnight.
