Beach Volleyball Scholarships

Residential scholarships (Maximum 14 scholarships)

Residential scholarships will be awarded to male and female athletes who are determined by the selection panel to be:

Professional - Members of current established teams which have qualified for the main draw in a minimum of 50% of the last eight FIVB World Tour events in which that team has competed (i.e. focused on qualification for the 2012 Olympic Games);

Elite Development – Individual athletes who have the capacity to improve current established teams as a substitute (due to injury, etc.) in the lead-up to the 2012 Olympic Games, or who are determined to have the potential to qualify for the 2016 Olympic Games and beyond.

Note: If an athlete does not meet the above criteria, the AIS/National Head Coach may still target him/her to apply for a scholarship with the AIS Program.

Camps-Based Scholarships (Maximum 6 scholarships)

Camps-based scholarships will be awarded to male and female athletes who are members of current established teams which have achieved a minimum of four top-4 finishes during the past 3-4 FIVB World Tour seasons, including results at:

1 major international event (e.g. World Championships or Olympic Games);

  • 1 World Tour Grand Slam event; and
  • 2 World Tour Open events.
