AIS Men's Cricket

  • From 1988 to 2008 there have been 271 AIS Male athletes of which 218 have represented senior state teams (80%)
  • 1988 to 2008 has produced 56 international team representatives (20%)
  • Between 2006 and 2008 there have been 40 Full time scholars at COE of which (100%) have represented senior state teams
  • 2006 to 2008 has produced 11 international team representatives (27%)
  • 2008-09 CA Contracted list consists of 24 out of 26 AIS graduates (92%)
  • From 2006 Full time intake 8 out of 16 athletes have since become CA contracted (50%)
  • Most recent Test team (Adelaide v NZ) consisted of 10 out of 12 AIS graduates (83%)
  • Most recent ODI team (Darwin v Bangladesh) consisted of 11 out of 12 AIS graduates (92%)
  • Most recent T20 team (in WI v West Indies) consisted of 12 out of 12 AIS graduates (100%)

2009

  • Tied Rose Bowl series with New Zealand 2-2
  • Semi Finalist ICC WT20 World Cup in England
  • Defeated England in T20 Match
  • Drew Ashes Test Match v England

2008

  • Tied ODI Series with England 2-2- in Australia
  • Won Rose Bowl Series v New Zealand in NZ 3-2
  • Won ODI Series v India 5-0 in Sydney

2007

  • Won QUAD Series in India against India, New Zealand and England
  • Won Rose Bowl v New Zealand in Darwin - 3-2

2006

  • Won ODI series v India in Australia 3-0
  • Won Test match v India in Adelaide
  • Won Rose Bowl Series v New Zealand in Brisbane 5-0

2005

  • Won Rose Bowl Series v New Zealand 3-0
  • Won Women's World Cup in South Africa
  • Won 5 match ODI series v England in England 3-2

2004

  • Won back to back Rose Bowl series v New Zealand 3-0 and 2 -1 respectively
  • Won 7 match ODI series v India in India 4-3 after leading 4-1

2003

  • The Australian Women’s team competed in the inaugural four-nation World Series of Cricket, playing seven games including the final and winning all games.
  • The squad also played a two-Test series against England, winning the series one-nil with one game drawn.
  • All players participating during the two tournaments were AIS scholarship holders.

2002

  • The Australian Women’s team played a six-game series against New Zealand for the Rosebowl.
  • Australia won the series five games to one.
  • Twelve of the 13 players were AIS scholarship holders.

2001

  • The Australian Women’s team toured England and Ireland, winning three one-day internationals against England as well as two Test matches.
  • In Ireland the team won all three one-day matches against the Irish national squad. All players in the team were AIS scholarship holders.
