Brian McFadyen - Program Manager

  • Appointed to the CA COE in April 2005
  • Successfully coached the Tasmanian Tigers from 2002-03 to 2004-05, leading them to victory in the 2004-05 ING Cup.
  • Regarded as an astute and progressive leader.

Dene Hills - Senior Coach

  • Appointed to the CBCE in April 2005
  • A highly decorated Tasmanian opening batsman, made 112 first-class appearances for Tasmania between 1991-92 and 2001-02.
  • Served as an assistant with the Tigers from 2003 to 2005.

Troy Cooley - Pace Bowling Coach

  • Originally from Launceston in Tasmania, Troy played 33 matches for the Tigers between 1985 and 1995, taking 54 wickets with a best of 4/41, in an injury interrupted career.
  • Troy quickly established himself as a valued bowling coach and in 2000 became an assistant coach at the Commonwealth Bank Cricket Academy in Adelaide (now known as the Cricket Australia Centre of Excellence (COE) in Brisbane.
  • In 2003, he was lured to England to partner fellow Australian Rod Marsh, as an assistant at the newly established English Cricket Boad Academy.
  • Following a short and successful stint in England, he returned home in 2006 to take up his current position as Pace Bowling Coach at the COE.

Mike Young - Fielding Coach

  • After more than thirty years in baseball, Mike Young brought his coaching skills across to cricket in 1999 when he was asked by then Queensland Bulls coach John Buchanan to come down to a team training.
  • Moving across to the Australian Cricket Team as a consultant in 2001, Mike has helped refine the throwing and fielding skills of team members and Centre of Excellence attendees for the better part of seven years.
  • Considers the 2003 and 2005 Australian World Cup victories as two of his career highlights.
  • Former Australian Baseball Team Manager and former professional baseball player in the United States.
  • Has been voted into the University of Wisconsin Hall of Fame.

Aaron Kellett - Strength and Conditioning

  • Aaron’s main roles are to provide strength and conditioning services to male and female athletes attending the Centre of Excellence on an AIS Scholarship, as well as the Australian women’s U/21 sqaud and the Australian men’s U/19 squad. He also is the Case Manager for any  injured nationally contracted or AIS scholarship cricketer.
  • Aaron also works with state cricket associations to implement the national fitness standards system. Aaron has a background in AFL football as a strength and conditioning coach and researcher.
