AIS / National Women’s Head Coach: Lisa Keightley

  • One of Australia’s most accomplished female cricketers, Lisa Keighley was named AIS/National Women’s Head Coach in June 2007. With her appointment, Lisa became the first woman appointed to coach the Commonwealth Bank Southern Stars.
  • Lisa retired after the women’s Ashes Series in 2005 and immediately entered the coaching ranks, taking charge of the NSW Breakers in the Women’s National Cricket League.
  • She was coach of the Breakers for two seasons and led the team to a pair of national league titles (2005/06, 2006/07) playing aggressive, attacking cricket.
  • A mainstay at the top of the order for the Australian team, Lisa played 82 one-day internationals and nine Tests between 1995 and 2005. In 1998 she was the first woman to score a century at Lord’s and was a member of Australia’s World Cup-winning squads in 1997 and 2005.
  • She retired as the third highest run-scorer in one-day international cricket for Australia and her 156 not out against Pakistan in 1997 is the second highest innings by an Australian woman.
