Peter De Roo

Born in the Netherlands in 1970, Peter played as a professional in Holland until an injury forced his retirement.  He subsequently coached at a professional level achieving his A-Licence with a special application on coaching high performance/elite youth players.

This led to appointment as the Head Coach of SC Cambuur reserves team and assistant to the first team managing a combination of professional and youth players.  Peter also held the position of Technical Director at the same club from 2005-2008.  In 2009 Peter moved to Australia with his young family to take up the position of Technical Director at Football Queensland.

Peter joined the AIS in March 2012 as the Program’s Technical Manager.  

Ufuk Talay

As a 16 year old, “Uffie” made his National Soccer League debut with Marconi Fairfield and went on to win the league. He also represented Australia in the 1995 Under-20 World Cup.

Uffie played professionally in Europe and Asia, most notably for Turkish giants Galatasaray where he won the Turkish Super League twice and Turkish Cup once. He also played for Nimes Olympique in France and Avispa Fukuoka in Japan.

He returned to Australia to play for Sydney FC in the A-League before finishing his playing career with North Queensland Fury FC.  Uffie then returned to Sydney to become coach of the New South Wales Football Federation’s Skill Acquisition Program and NSW Premier League Sydney United.

Uffie accepted the role of AIS Men’s Football Assistant Coach in May 2012.

Antony Vidmar

Tony was born in Adelaide and is a former Socceroo having represented Australia on 76 occasions as a senior player and 18 times as an Under-23.  He has competed at Olympic Games and is one of Australia’s most capped players.

Tony played professionally in Europe, most notably for Scottish side Rangers where he turned out on more than 150 times and was a member of teams that won the Scottish Premier League twice, Scottish League Cup twice and the Scottish Cup on three occasions.  He also played for Middlesborough, Welsh outfit Cardiff City and NAC Breda in the Netherlands.

He finished his playing career in Australia with the Central Coast Mariners and returned to his native Adelaide to pursue coaching opportunities with Adelaide United Youth and the South Australian Sports Institute. Tony accepted the role of AIS Men’s Football Senior Coach in March 2012.
