Vladimir Vatkin - Senior Coach
Vladimir Vatkin was the former coach of the 1994 World Champion Ivan Ivankov from Belarus. Vladimir moved to Australia in 1997 and has worked with some of the best gymnasts at the AIS, noteably Bret Hudson in 1997/98 and Philippe Rizzo who recently won Australia's first ever gold medal at World Championships (2006) on High Bar
Vladimir brings a wealth of knowledge from the former USSR and Belarus. The gymnasts that Vladimir has coached are well prepared, strong and are pushing the difficulty limits of the program to new heights.
Valery Kaladzinski - Senior WAG coach
Valery come to Australia as the Head Coach of Belarus and before that a national coach of the former Soviet Union. He has extensive experience at World Championship (1993, 1994, 1997, 2002, 2003) and Olympic (1996) level plus has been coaching at many European Championships.
Some of the famous gymnasts he has coached are Yelena Piskun, who was 1st on Vault at the 1993 World Championships, 4th on floor and 7th All-around. In Atlanta the Belarus team with Svetlana Boginskaya, Yelena Piskun placed 6th with Yelena 12th in the All-around. In the 1996 World Championships in San Juan, Yelena Piskun placed 1st on the Uneven bars.
Volha (Olga) Yermakova
Hollie Dykes
Hollie Dykes was born in Southport, Queensland and began her gymnastics career at the age of 5 at the Gold Coast Gymnastics Club. At the age of 10 Hollie was selected by Ju Ping Tian to come to the AIS where she was awarded a scholarship after becoming the Australian Stage 3 champion for two consecutive years.
During her period at the AIS, Hollie represented Australia at many international competitions including, as a junior National Club champion, 2nd All-around at AYOF in 2005. Hollie was Junior International silver medal winning in 2005 as well. 2006 saw the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne and Hollie was a member of the gold medal winning team, as well as winning bronze in the All-around competition, gold on floor and silver on beam. Hollie went on to compete at the Pacific alliance in Hawaii and was third All-around. At World Championships in 2006 Hollie finished 7th All-around. Then went onto DTB World Cup Event where she won gold on beam. Hollie retired in 2007 after competing at the World Championships in Germany.
