The coaching team

AIS Head Coach for the men's team, Barry Dancer, is also the National Men's Coach. Barry was formerly the National Coach of the Great Britain men's team (1999-2000) and the England men's team (1998-2000). He was AIS Head Coach in 1997 and before that, was AIS Senior Coach (1990-96).

Assistant National Coach for the men's team is Colin Batch. Colin has been with the AIS Hockey program since 2001. Prior to this, he was Head Coach of men's hockey at the Victorian Institute of Sport and Assistant Coach of the Australian under-21 team for the Junior World Cup.

Assistant National Coach for the junior teams is Mark Hager. He was the captain of the Australian men's hockey team that won bronze at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. He was previously the men's intensive training centre coach at the Western Australian Institute of Sport and a specialist coach of the national men's team.

AIS Head Coach for the women's team, Frank Murray is also the National Women's Coach. Frank was formerly the Assistant National Coach for the women's team (1996-2000), the AIS Head Coach (1994- 1996) and the National Men's Coach (1994- 1996, 1989- 1993). He was a member of the Australian Men's Hockey Team that won a medal at both the Barcelona and Atlanta Olympics.

Assistant National Coach for the junior teams is Katrina Powell. Katrina captained the Australian team that won bronze at the 2002 Commonwealth Games. She was the 2005 Junior World Cup Assistant Coach and coach of the WA under- 18 state team in this same year.
