Coaches

Head Coach of the AIS program is Brian Johnson who formerly held positions as Head Coach of Warrington Rugby League Football Club in England, Assistant Coach at Parramatta Eels, First Division Coach for the Illawarra Steelers, and First Division Coach and Assistant Coach at St George Illawarra.

Brian is assisted by Peter O'Sullivan. A former Flegg and 1st Division Coach at St George and St George Illawarra, as well as a First Grade assistant Coach at St George before becoming the Recruitment Officer at Melbourne Storm. Peter’s undoubted knowledge of Rugby League has seen him promoted within the Melbourne Storm organization in 2005 to become their “General Manger of Football Operations”.

Brendan Barlow - Secondary teacher at Wavell State High, Head of Department for Health and Physical Education/Sport in Queensland.  He is the current 2008 Australian Schoolboys Coach. He is Assistant Coach of the Norths Devils Queensland Cup team. 

Terry Gilogley - Terry has been involved in coaching and conditioning with National Rugby League (NRL) teams in Australia (St.George Illawarra Dragons, Parramatta Eels and the Illawarra Steelers). Furthermore he has coached overseas with Super League team the Warrington Wolves (in Great Britain); as well as Head Coach of French Elite club Villeneuve Leopards. In addition Terry has a degree in Exercise Science (Wollongong University).

Col Matthews – One of only a relatively few Level 4 Rugby League Coaches in Australia, Col has been a well known and highly respected coach in NSW Country areas for many years. He has coached Western Division U19s to 3 country championship wins, NSW CRL on numerous occasions at either U17s, U18s and U19s level as well as coaching NSW U19s three times in their annual clash with Queensland.

Rod Reddy - Former St George and New South Wales player who also played in the first  Queensland State of Origin team.  Rod represented Australia on numerous occasions.  Currently a recruitment officer for Parramatta Eels.
