Grinham battles through as Brown bows out

 

UK-based Queenslander Rachael Grinham battled her way into the semi-finals of the Malaysian Open squash tournament in Kuala Lumpur when she beat Jenny Duncalf of England in five games on Thursday.

Grinham won her second five-game match in as many days  as she downed Duncalf 11-9, 11-7, 6-11, 4-11, 11-9 to set up a semi-final clash with another Englishwoman, fourth seed Alison Waters.

Meanwhile world number one Nicol David ended Kasey Brown’s (AIS-SQUASH) run with an 11-4, 11-8, 11-3 win in their quarter-final.

David will take on Australian born Dutchwoman Natalie Grinham for a place in the final.

The men’s semi-finals will both be Anglo-Egyptian clashes.

Top seed Amr Shabana takes on James Willstrop while second seed Nick Matthew faces Wael El Hindi.
