Squash Malaysians wreak havoc on Australians
20 Mar 2010
Malaysia’s Azlan Iskandar rode a wave of home town support to upset Australia’s Stewart Boswell (Former AIS Scholarship) in the quarter-finals of the KL Open squash tournament in Kuala Lumpur on Thursday.
The unseeded Iskandar was in inspired form as he disposed of Boswell in straight games 11-1, 11-8, 11-5.
Boswell was joined on the sidelines by fellow Australians Cameron Pilley (Former AIS Scholarship) and Kasey Brown (AIS Scholarship).
Pilley fought hard against former world number one Karim Darwish but couldn’t find an answer to beating the Egyptian, who won 11-7, 11-7, 11-9.
Brown took world number one Nicol David to two tiebreak games in the women’s draw before the Malaysian superstar overwhelmed her in the third, winning 12-10, 14-12, 11-1.
