Squash Scholarships
Athletes apply to the AIS Squash Administrator each year in October for the following year. The AIS Squash program's coaches choose the successful applicants and have their decision endorsed by Squash Australia before final approval by the AIS Director. Selection is based on the level of excellence and the development potential of each applicant to reach the top 20 men and top 10 women. As a general rule, applicants would normally be competing at a national-championship level as either juniors or seniors.
Successful scholarship holders are provided with coaching, access to facilities and equipment and sports science and sports medicine support. Travel, personal and career development, accommodation, food and some educational expenses may also be provided. All athletes are encouraged and supported to undertake personal development, study or work as well as to train and compete in their sport.
