Andrew Logan  (Performance Manager)

Andrew Logan commenced as the Performance Manager of the Australian Institute of Sport triathlon program in March 2006.

The performance manager’s position was created to reflect the evolving needs of the AIS triathlon program.

Andrew brings a wealth of experience and a broad knowledge of high performance sports from an athlete, coach and administrator’s perspective.

Andrew returns to the AIS Canberra where previously he worked in the road cycling program – initially in an apprentice coaching role with then head coach Heiko Salzwedel, then as the assistant men’s road coach followed by four years as the national women’s road coach.

During this period Andrew coached at two summer Olympics; Barcelona and Atlanta; the 1994 Commonwealth Games, Victoria Canada and numerous world cycling championships, working with numerous Olympic and Commonwealth Games and world championship medallists.

Most recently Andrew worked in a joint position for the NSW Institute of Sport (NSWIS) and Jindabyne Sport and Recreation Centre where he managed the NSWIS winter sport programs and the Centre’s indoor sport facility and accommodation services. The NSWIS winter sports programs included the national alpine and development mogul ski programs and the national talent transfer/talent id snowboard half pipe program. Internationally, Andrew managed the national alpine ski team at two world alpine championships and world cup circuit.

Prior to Andrew commencing in the AIS performance managers role he worked at the 2006 Torino Winter Olympics as the Australian team athlete village coordinator.

Andrew has also worked for Swimming Australia and the national swim team as Sport Science Coordinator.

As an athlete Andrew competed in road cycling, living and competing in Europe for five years, represented Australia at World Road Cycling Championships and at the 1990 Auckland Commonwealth Games.

Andrew has a Diploma of Teaching; Bachelor of Education; and Graduate Diploma of Sports Coaching. He is currently completing a Master of Business degree.
