This was AIS / Volleyball Team Australia Men's first Asian Championship crown and the first time a country other than China, Japan and Korea has captured the title. As Asian Champions Australia subsequently qualified for its first World Cup Tournament where the top three teams gain a direct berth to the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.

In addition, Daniel Howard (WA) was awarded the tournaments Most Valuable Player.

2007 AIS European Tour - 31st Dec - 17 Feb 07

The AIS team on the first leg of their six week European journey, have been presented with the winners trophy from the Mas Nikh Volleyball Tournament held in Eginiou, Greece. The AIS remained dominant throughout the tournament, losing only one set in the five matches played. Captain John Dekker (best attacker) and Aidan Zingel (best blocker) both received individual player awards as a part of the tournament.
