Over the weekend of the 28-30 March, the AIS Men’s Volleyball team travelled to Melbourne and Dandenong to compete against number 1 ranked Japanese University Team, Nittaidai and also against some local Victorian club teams to compete in the 2008 Eric Hayman Cup.

Match 1

AIS def Nittaidai Uni 3:1 (24-26, 25-23, 25-20, 25-23) AIS out-blocked Nittaidai, with the teams height the deciding factor.

Best Players: White 20 kills, Passier 9 blocks and Zingel 4 blocks and 8 kills.

Match 2

AIS lost to Nittaidai Uni 3:0 (25-19, 25-21, 25-17) Nittaidai played much better, while the AIS were error prone, especially in reception.

Match 3

AIS lost to Nittaidai Uni 3:0 (25-20, 25-19, 25-21) AIS played much better in the decider as a team however Nittaidai were too consistent.

In the first hit-out for 2008 since returning from the Jan-Feb Europe Tour, the AIS Volleyball Squad used the opportunity to work different team combinations with a mixture of both new and experienced members.
