Postgraduate scholarships
The Postgraduate Scholarship position in Skill Acquisition is currently filled and will not be available again until January 2009.
The Skill Acquisition section encourages the development of future expertise within the discipline by offering an annual postgraduate student scholarship as well as supervising post-graduate students from various universities.
Applicants are required to have an undergraduate degree in physical education, human movement and sport science or similar field, it is also preferable to have completed some undergraduate work in the areas of motor learning and control.
Under the direction of a Supervisor, the scholarship holder will be required to:
- Undertake study in skill acquisition including lectures, tutorials and seminars/workshops by AIS staff
- Complete an applied skill acquisition research project in line with the current directions of the AIS
- Assist with all facets of skill acquisition testing and servicing of AIS and NSO sports
- Assist in the preparation and provision of training materials for various AIS and NSO sports
- Assist in the preparation and delivery of skill acquisition lectures to visiting groups as required
