Duties/Responsibilities: Provide leadership within the discipline team, coordinating communication with the national network, interfacing with NSO and AIS staff and coaches, working on athlete welfare and high performance initiatives, and providing service to AIS water polo and rowing teams. Prior to this appointment, she spent 14 years with the U.S. Olympic Committee in the role of Senior Sport Psychologist, providing psychological assistance and sport mental skill training to national level coaches and athletes. She has provided psychological services with teams at seven Olympic Games.

Dr Peterson is a registered (AUS) and licensed (US) psychologist, with additional training and experience in the areas of sport and performance psychology. Her practice specialities include dealing with character development in sport, performance enhancement strategies, and cognitive-behavioural therapies. Her research interests include coping with injury and coaching effectiveness.

Dr Peterson has served as President of the American Psychological Association's sport psychology division, and as a member of the Association of Applied Sport Psychology's certification and ethics committees.

Provide coordination and administration support to the Head of Performance Psychology Discipline other program staff to ensure the effective functioning of the program. Manage day-to-day office operations and coordinate the development and maintenance of processes and procedures that ensure effective and efficient office administration.

Coordinate and deliver a range of administrative tasks to ensure that the functions effectively and efficiently, meeting accountability and athlete servicing requirements.

Budget management.

Create a supportive, efficient and enjoyable working environment for staff.
