Recovery and Swimming Centre - Swimming
The forefront of elite training and competition facilities
Widely regarded as the most advanced pool of its type in the world, the AIS Recovery and Swimming Centre offers the very best in aquatic technology. The 50-metre pool contains a bulkhead that allows the pool to be transformed into a 25-metre short-course pool. The recovery centre combines state-of-the-art hot/cold therapy with dry-land recovery facilities for a holistic approach to recovery.
Swimming is Australia’s most successful Olympic sport. There are up to 24 scholarship holders and four coaches in the AIS Swimming program.
Swimmers usually train twice a day, early in the morning around 6.00am and again during the late afternoon. Swimmers can swim up to 20 kilometres a day.
