The AIS has a limited number of rooms available for people who wish to eat, sleep and live like an elite athlete. You may be visiting the AIS for a tourevent or sport camp.

Located only ten minutes from Canberra ’s city centre and 25 minutes from Canberra International Airport, the AIS residence are in the heart of the Bruce campus.

You will be living alongside elite athletes in the communal environment of the AIS athletes' residence. The residence, with a capacity for 250 guests, is generally configured in blocks of 12 single rooms and a self-contained unit.

Each block has a shared communal living room with pay television and bathroom facilities.

Rooms include a single bed (with extra-long beds for tall athletes), refrigerator, desk, sink, phone for incoming calls and data ports for the internet.

While staying at the AIS, you can also purchase AIS-branded apparel, toys, souvenirs, accessories and more from the AIS Shop.

People staying in the residences are expected to comply with the general rules of the AIS Halls of Residence.

Access

Reception at the Residence is open 7.30am – 10.00pm on weekdays, and 9.00am – 10.00pm on weekends and public holidays.

What to bring

We provide fresh linen and a towel, and all rooms are serviced on a weekly basis. We recommend you bring additional towels for pool or gym sessions. We also recommend that you bring:

  • toiletries including shampoo, conditioner, soap and toothpaste (these are not included in rooms)
  • sunscreen
  • camera
  • personal disc/walk man with earphones
  • autograph book.
