Imagine your child exploring a world of fun, activity and adventure during their school holidays all in a safe and licensed environment.

The sports vacation program at the AIS operates every day during school holiday period. Daily programs make the most of our world-class AIS facilities, and include activities such as football (soccer), netball, basketball, hockey, tennis, athletics, pool activities, arts and craft, activities in Sportex — the interactive sports exhibit, big screen movies and much more!

Your children will have the opportunity to take part in fun and hands-on activities, improve some of their sporting skills and techniques and take part in teamwork activities.

Do not forget that our sports vacation program is licensed with the ACT Government, which entitles you to a childcare rebate if you are eligible.

Program information

For ages: 5-13 years (children must be school students)
Where: Drop-off point is Swim and Fitness at the AIS reception
Fees: Our current fees are available from the Fees section of this website.

What to bring each day

  • Morning, lunch and afternoon tea (no canteen facilities available)
  • Water bottle
  • Sun hat and sunscreen
  • T-shirt, shorts and appropriate footwear
  • Swimmers, towel and swim cap
  • Goggles and floaties (if your child wears them in the pool)

Conditions

  • Do not pack your child any food/s that contain peanuts. Other participants attending the program may be allergic to peanuts and could suffer a severe reaction if exposed.
  • Ensure your child is appropriately dressed for sporting activities. Swim and Fitness at the AIS takes no responsibility for lost or stolen items. Clearly mark all items of clothing and check the lost property table for any missing items each day. Do not bring cash.
  • Do not bring any hand-held computer games.
  • Medication requirements are requested to be provided to the staff on arrival with clear written details of dosages.

Bookings 

Bookings are essential as limited spaces are available. To secure your booking, complete an enrolment form and provide payment to Swim and Fitness at the AIS Reception. Payment can be made by cheque, credit card, EFTPOS or cash.
