Junior Lifeguard Club

The Junior Lifesaving Club is an initiative of the Royal Life Saving Society of Australia. It is a way for those children who have achieved some basic swimming skills to expand those skills to include lifesaving and survival swimming.

The ultimate aim of the Junior Lifesaving Club is to develop some basic lifesaving techniques that participants can then put to use in the employment field. This program is a ten-week program based on the school term and is designed for children between 8–16 years of age. It complements the skills of those who are already in our learn-to-swim program.

The benefits of our Junior Lifesaving Club are to maintain and improve:

  • swimming skills and fitness levels
  • lifesaving skills
  • water safety and survival skill knowledge
  • leadership and teamwork
  • community education and awareness.
