Tennis is a great way to keep fit, enjoy the outdoors, improve hand–eye coordination, increase fitness, make new friends and socialise.
The AIS has all-weather hard-court and synthetic surfaces, and floodlights available for day or night lessons. We have tennis lessons for all ages and a holiday tennis camp program for juniors.

Tennis classes
Junior tennis — Beginner, intermediate and advanced sessions available for seven to thirteen year olds. Learning correct technique for all strokes that will lead to continual improvement and enjoyment for years to come. Maximum of six per group.
Girls junior squad class — For girls only, maximum of six per squad. Emphasis on game play tactics while improving techniques.
Boys junior squad class — For boys only, maximum of six per squad. Emphasis on game play tactics while improving techniques.
Private — One-to-one session for children or adults who want to improve personal game and techniques.
Adult beginners — For adults who have played little or no tennis and want to improve their fitness while learning the skills of this exciting game. Maximum of six per group.
Adult intermediate — For adults who can play tennis but still need improvements on techniques and game play tactics. Maximum of six per group.
Adult social — For adults who can play tennis and would like to play in a social environment. The tennis coach will introduce skills and drills, and incorporate each session with a tennis match. Maximum of six per group.
Terms and conditions
- All players must be appropriately dressed and be wearing non-marking soled shoes.
- All sessions will start and finish on time.
- Parent assistance is welcomed under coach’s instruction.
- In the event of a rain affected session: where possible lessons will be conducted indoors or, subject to availability a make up lesson may be allowed.
- All fees are non-refundable and are GST inclusive.
- Participants must supply their own tennis racquets.
- You must notify the coach of any present medical conditions/history before initial session.
- Completed forms required prior to the commencement of lessons.
- Entry is via the Swim and Fitness a the AIS reception.
