The role of the ASC Coaching and Officiating unit

The Australian Sports Commission’s (ASC’s) Coaching and Officiating unit provides national leadership in the development of coaching and officiating, in conjunction with National Sporting Organisation (NSOs) and state departments of sport and recreation.

Its main programs are the NCAS and NOAS, which provide competency based training and a nationally recognised accreditation to coaches and officials working at all levels of sport. Over 70 recognised sports are involved in the NCAS and NOAS. Each year approximately 25 000 coaches and officials are accredited. You can contact your NSO to find out the latest information on accreditation programs available through your sport.
