International research forum
The Australian Sports Commission (ASC) in partnership with Sport England and UK Sport convened the first International Sport Research Forum (ISR Forum) on the Value of Sport, held at the Australian Institute of Sport, Canberra, Australia from 13-15 April 2005.
Representatives (policy-makers and researchers) from England, Canada, Nigeria, Norway, New Zealand and Australia were in attendance.
The overall purpose of the Forum was to build the interbnational network to support the Value of Sport Monitor.
The Forum focused on:
- exploring the current evidence base and identifying where there are gaps in research and evaluation;
- discussing the methodological issues that impact on the quality of the evidence base;
- discussing and clarifying procedures for reviewing and maintaining the evidence base and building the Value of Sport Monitor as a shared resource; and
