Individuals
There are a number of opportunities for funding for individuals available through the ASC, including:
-
Through the Australian Institute of Sport, the ASC offers athlete scholarships across 35 sport programs in 26 sports administered from various centres around Australia.
-
The ASC currently administers the Australian Government Sport Training Grant (AGSTG). This is an Australian Government initiative to provide direct funds to targeted elite athletes, selected on the basis of medal potential, to assist with their training and competition expenses while preparing for the Beijing 2008 Olympic and Paralympic Games and other events such as select world championships. AGSTG allocations are made directly to athletes by the ASC based on submissions received from NSO/NSOD. Athletes interested in applying for this funding should contact their respective NSO/NSOD. Individual applications should not be made direct to the ASC.
-
Elite Indigenous Travel and Accommodation Assistance program (EITAAP) is for Indigenous sportspeople who have been selected for a state team to compete at national championships or an Australian team to compete at an international event.
-
The Local Sporting Champions program is an Australian Government initiative designed to provide financial assistance for junior sportsmen and women towards the cost of travel, acommodation, uniforms or equipment when competing at an official national sporting organisation (NSO) endorsed state or national sporting competition.
-
The ASC conducts the National Coaching Scholarship program (NCSP), aimed at developing Australia’s pool of elite coaching talent. The program has produced some of Australia’s most distinguished high-performance coaches and assists in the development of Australia’s elite athletes.
-
