Building on excellence

  • The Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) in Canberra has been transformed by a $74 million redevelopment of its training facilities that will define a new era for Australian sport towards the 2008 Beijing Olympics and beyond.

  • The Australian Government committed $74 million to the redevelopment of AIS sports training facilities (announced in the May Federal Budget of 2002).

  • A great benefit of these new improved facilities will be the close proximity and level of interaction between AIS coaches, sport program staff and SSSM service providers to better coordinate, support and manage our 35 AIS sport programs.
