Fraser finishes fourth as Francis qualifies fastest

WOMEN’S SHOT PUT F37/38

Amanda Fraser (AIS) came 4th in the F37 with a throw of 10.52m in the fifth round. Amanda just missed out on the bronze medal position when Eva Berna (Czechoslovakia) threw 10.84m with her final throw.

The gold medal was won in a world record in F37 class by Na Mi from China who threw 11.58m.
 
Because it is a combined class Aldona Grigaliuniene (Lithuania) who is an F38 athlete finished with the silver medal despite a world record throw 12.58m. The judges determine the medlas taking into account the merit of both world record throws.

MEN’S 400M T46 CLASS

Heath Francis (AIS) in the T46 class has qualified fastest for the final of the 400m. He won his heat with a time of 49.39secs.
 
The first heat was won by Guenther Matzingir (Austria) in 49.43secs.
