Former world champion Eamon Sullivan will compete at the 2009 Speedo AIS International meet to be held at the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) in Canberra from 25 to 27 November.

Sullivan, who recently returned from injury, will headline a host of top-class swimmers who will race at the Speedo AIS International meet.

AIS and Australian swim coach Shannon Rollason said the Speedo AIS International was one of the last major long course meets of the year.

‘Apart from next month’s Queensland nationals, this is the final opportunity for swimmers to race over the long course,’ Rollason said.

‘We’re delighted to have quality Australian swimmers such as Eamon, Ash Delaney, Matthew Abood and Andrew Lauterstein racing in Canberra, along with Felicity Galvez, Marieke Guehrer and Leisel Jones, who all broke world records at the recent World Cup short course meets.

‘I’m sure the swimmers will be looking forward to racing over the long course, having just competed in the World Cup short course series.’

The camp will be held under the watchful eye of national coach Alan Thompson and will be a timely lead-up to the next London relay camp, at the AIS on 28 November, which involves the Australian national squad.
