AIS basketball coach Marty Clarke has been named as one of four assistant coaches who will work with the Australian Boomers team through to the London Olympics in 2012.

Clarke, along with Shane Heal and Andrej Lemanis will work with new Boomers coach Brett Brown as Australia looks to stamp its mark on the international stage. 

Brown said he was extremely pleased with the new coaching appointments.

'Marty has a terrific record with the junior program and knows the playing group well from their time together at the Institute,' Brown said.

'Shane as a 4-time Olympian and former Boomers Captain is an untapped resource of great value, while Andrej has an outstanding knowledge of the game.'

'They are a competitive, astute group and together we are excited to embrace the difficult challenge of securing Australian men’s basketball’s first medal in senior men’s competition.'

The Boomers 2009 campaign begins on June 20 with a camp at the Australian Institute of Sport in Canberra and ends at the Boris Stankovic Cup in China on September 1.
