Australian Institute of Sport golfer Daniel Nisbet won the Keperra Bowl championship by one stroke on 12 May 2009.

Nisbet’s four-metre putt on the 72nd and final hole of the Brisbane course won the 18-year-old his fourth consecutive amateur championship, as well as a tournament record for his score of 21 under par.

Over the last few weeks Nisbet has taken out the Golf South Australia Amateur Classic, Queensland Men’s Amateur Golf Stroke Play Championship and the Queensland Men’s Amateur Championship, making him one of Australia’s hottest new talents. He currently holds a ranking of 38 on the world amateur circuit.

Originally from Caboolture, Queensland, Nisbet recently moved to Melbourne to join the AIS Golf program to have better access to some of Australia’s premier courses.  He is a member at Victoria Golf Club.

Nisbet’s next move will be a trip to Britain and then the United States, to compete in several international tournaments.
